Job Description

Below is a ready-to-post version designed to attract a capable construction professional without identifying Dereume Dunkel Roofing. ## Commercial Roofing Estimator **Confidential Opportunity | Western Pennsylvania** An established and growing commercial roofing contractor in Western Pennsylvania is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to join its team as a Commercial Roofing Estimator. This position is well suited for either an experienced estimator or a construction professional—such as a carpenter, foreman, or project coordinator—who understands how work gets built and is ready to transition into an estimating and project-management role. Commercial roofing experience is preferred but not required for a strong candidate with relevant construction experience and the ability to learn. ### Position Responsibilities * Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project requirements * Perform field measurements and attend pre-bid site visits * Prepare material takeoffs, labor estimates, and competitive proposals * Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors * Identify project risks, exclusions, alternates, and unusual conditions * Communicate with owners, general contractors, architects, suppliers, and field personnel * Assist with project handoff, purchasing, scheduling, and job-cost tracking * Maintain organized bid records and follow up on submitted proposals * Develop a working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, insulation, sheet metal, shingle, slate, tile, shake and related accessories ### Ideal Candidate * Construction field, estimating, project-management, or supervisory experience * Ability to read construction drawings and specifications * Strong mathematical, organizational, and computer skills * Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy * Comfortable communicating professionally with customers and vendors * Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple bids * Practical understanding of labor, materials, and jobsite conditions * Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record * Commercial roofing knowledge is a plus, but training may be provided We place significant value on practical construction experience. A candidate transitioning from the trades who demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, computer aptitude, and a willingness to learn will receive serious consideration. ### Compensation and Benefits The company offers a stable, long-term opportunity with a competitive compensation package that includes: * Competitive salary based on experience * Company vehicle with personal-use privileges * Company-paid fuel, maintenance, and vehicle expenses * Healthcare reimbursement, including eligible family coverage * Retirement plan with a 3% company match * Two weeks of paid vacation * Paid holidays * Annual Christmas bonus * Company-provided computer, phone, and necessary estimating tools * Training and advancement opportunities * Primarily weekday daytime schedule ### Why Consider This Opportunity? This is an opportunity to become an important part of a respected, locally owned contractor with an established workforce and steady commercial project base. The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership and have the opportunity to develop into a senior estimating or project-management position. The company values accuracy, accountability, practical decision-making, and long-term working relationships. This is not a high-pressure commissioned sales position. ### Confidential Application Process All inquiries and applications will be handled confidentially. Employment inquiries will not be shared with a candidate’s current employer without permission. Please submit a résumé or a brief description of your construction and estimating experience, along with your compensation expectations, to info@dereumedunkel.com. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly for a private introductory conversation. **Equal Opportunity Employer**
